石川亮太

Born in Yokohama in 1983, Ryōta Ishikawa studied at the Tokyo College of Music. He has composed a wide range of solo works and works for instrumental ensemble including full orchestra. In particular, he has composed numerous works for saxophone including Rhapsody on Japanese Folk Songs commissioned by Nobuya Sugawa. He has also composed a large number of fantasy pieces based on folk songs and children’s songs.
For many years he has composed pieces for performance by Zoorasian Brass and their friends and has devoted himself to the dissemination of music that oversteps generational boundaries. As a composer and arranger his aim is to create music that is easy to listen to without any sacrifice of artistic quality.
