ワン・シンヤン(王心阳)(1989-)
Dr. WANG Xinyang is a interntionally active composer whose works have garnered prestigious accolades, including First Prize in the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award (2020) and a Guggenheim Fellowship (2025) during its centennial anniversary. He is also the first composer to have an opera premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
A graduate of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music (Bachelor), Manhattan School of Music (Master), and University of Pittsburgh (PhD in Composition), Wang has developed a unique musical language that synthesizes Chinese traditional aesthetics with Western classical rigor. His compositions explore new possibilities in contemporary classical music while maintaining global appeal, offering a distinctive cross-cultural perspective that enriches today's musical discourse.
Notable for works that bridge traditions and push artistic boundaries, Wang continues to contribute to the international contemporary music landscape through innovative collaborations and boundary-defying compositions.
