HAGINOMORI, Hideaki

Hideaki Haginomori studied under Shin Sato and Norio Fukushi in the Department of Composition in the Faculty of Music at Tokyo University of Arts. His works have been performed by many orchestras in Japan and abroad including the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, the Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Ryukyu Symphony Orchestra, the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, and the National Radio Orchestra of Romania. In particular, a recording of his work Okinawa kokyo saijiki (Okinawan Symphony Yearbook) composed for the Ryukyu Symphony Orchestra was selected for special recommendation by the Rekodo Geijutsu music magazine.
In addition to his work as a composer he is also active as an arranger, and in these capacities has written several hundred scores for Japan’s major orchestras as well as making arrangements for popular Japanese TV programmes. He is a director of the Japan Composers and Arrangers Association and a part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
