All five pieces in this set feature a Primo part which is relatively easy to play without the hands getting tied up in knots and a Secondo part which is not particularly difficult but which takes a leisurely lead over the Primo part and shapes the music including the use of pedalling. These are pieces which can be enjoyably played by a young student and their teacher or an adult student.
There is no consistent story underlying the development from the first to the fifth pieces. They may be played separately or consecutively at students’ concerts to provide an enjoyable respite from the conventional run of solo performances.
