Description
It’s both fun and wonderful to have the daily experience of being able to play music with other people. Among its many other obvious benefits the experience helps cultivate musicality in players. I composed this suite in the hope that it would be played with maximum enjoyment.
I named this six-movement work ‘Pals on the earth’ because it consists of four pieces based on children’s songs and folk songs from all over the world along with two pieces that employ the themes of children’s songs that I have composed myself. ‘Pals’ refers to children and adults from parts of the world where songs have been handed down the ages,to song and musical instruments, and to topics such as the moon, the little bears and the centipedes that appear in these songs.
