Description: Nebula is inspired by the vast celestial clouds of gas and dust from which stars are born. The work unfolds as a journey through different nebulae, each with its own colour, density, and sense of motion, drifting, gathering, and transforming across immense expanses of space.
Through evolving textures and richly coloured orchestral sonorities, the music evokes the continual processes of formation and transformation that shape these cosmic landscapes. Delicate sounds emerge from silence, accumulate in layers, intertwine, dissolve, and reappear, like light gradually taking shape and shining through fields of interstellar dust. Rather than depicting a specific astronomical phenomenon, the work seeks to capture a state of continual becoming and change.
Drawing upon an awareness of time, space, and subtle transformation rooted in Eastern aesthetics, bringing these ideas into dialogue with the rich palette of the contemporary Western orchestra. The work is both an imaginative reflection on the vastness and mystery of the universe and an exploration of light, sound, and the generative power of continual transformation.
