…AS A PETAL BLOWN BY THE WIND for Violin and Piano（2024）

…As a Petal Blown by the Wind is inspired by the image of cherry blossom petals drifting through the spring air. The title evokes the fleeting nature of moments that appear briefly, linger in memory, and quietly disappear.
Drawing inspiration from Makoto Shinkai’s film 5 Centimeters per Second (2007), the work does not seek to narrate a particular story. Instead, it explores the fragile emotions associated with memory, distance, and the passage of time. Like petals carried by the wind, musical gestures emerge, intertwine, and gradually fade, creating a sense of continual movement and impermanence.
Flowing piano lines and delicate violin sonorities unfold within an intimate sound world shaped by subtle shifts of colour and texture. Through these changing resonances, the work reflects on the beauty of transient experiences and the traces they leave behind.
