Description
One by one, the drops of starlight fall on to piano strings and make sounds. This is what I wanted to compose. Dampers of every string are thrown open from beginning to end with the right pedal. Most of the strings open like the dark night surface of the sea, and the delicate drops of the starlight fall into there and spread the slight ripple. A ripple overlaps and sounds itself like an illusion, and throws feeble light to the atmosphere. That is the nightglow. I would like you to listen to the ripple of overlapping sounds. This is first time for me to compose the music that is whole pianissimo music.
This is a composition by Ms. Reiko Ebisuta’s commission. It is given to her who played the premire.
