NIGHT SPELL， for Piano（2003）

Rieko Aizawa is a pianist who is based in the U. S. has been active internationally. A condition of composition is “Homage to Beethoven”. Beethoven is very special， which have not stopped charming me from my childhood， and he is the great composer whom I have a thought of acclaim. But he was too great to me， and I could not compose Homage. So， here I composed is a kind of nocturne. There is the thing that occasionally seems to be a magical power to let listener to feel a night mystery. If I insist， this is the homage to such magical power. Needless to say but， the first movement of Beethoven’s “Mondschein” (Sonata 14 cis-moll， Op.27-2) is quoted generally. “Mondschein” leads us to a night fantasy.
