SCHERZO IN D，for Piano（2006）

The 'D' in the title suggests 'D. Shostakovich'. Within the piece，too，the composer's name is used as a musical cell (D-S-C-H or D-E flat-C-B in German music spelling)，and this was extended to form a cell of 31 notes. The music is built up from the repetition of this cell together with fragments from Shostakovich's Fifth，Seventh and Tenth Symphonies. At the beginning of my piece I use the slightly unusual terminology 'Allegro vivace e molto espressivo !'.
