HOW TO QUOTE ?，for Piano（2006）

Shostakovich often used quotations. In his last work，the Viola Sonata op.147 (1975)，he quoted a fragment from his own opera The Gamblers in the second movement，and in the third movement he quoted from Beethoven's 'Moonlight' Piano Sonata op.27，no.2. For my part，I have been interested in quoting not only music，but also other things. I tried 'quoting quotations'. By repeating sound quotations，the piece moves away from its prototype and takes on the aspect of a 'association game' on television.
