This is the third piece of my serial works entitled 'Respiration' such as 'Respiration I for clarinet solo'(1997),'Respiration Ⅱ for flute and violin'(1999). The respiration is an indispensable movement for life on the earth to live, and is a fundamental mouvement prior to an existence of individual peculiarity and/or mechanism of each life. It takes a matter of course, and belongs to a domain of unconsciousness. However,I prefer to focus the movement of respiration, and have been writing this serial works.
In this time,I gave the sub title such as 'Coexistence of solitudes' for this piece as an another point of view. In the piece, three different instruments, such as oboe, clarinet and bassoon, individually express the different pulse, and the coexistence of different pulses is unexpectedly blended in some cases, and is individually exist within theirown solitude sometimes. It seems just like a solitude of one's holding and/ or a longing for a temporary coexistence.
